The Town of Truckee and Holliday Development have formed the Truckee Railyard Partnership to develop a Master Plan for the Railyard located within the historic downtown.

The goals are:
* Investing in Truckee’s downtown
* Strengthening the local economy
* Creating a Sustainable Plan for the future

The community vision encourages a compact and walkable mixed-use development, which preserves and enhances the historic mountain community character of Truckee.

The project has three phases:
Phase 1 - Understanding the town and the site
Phase 2 - Exploring development alternatives
Phase 3 - Deciding how to implement the development plan

Last winter, the Truckee Railyard Partnership completed Phase 1 of the project, which included background research, a site analysis, community meetings and a summary report. As part of Phase 2, the Partnership is working to understand community needs and create design alternatives that respond to them. Phase three will include appropriate environmental approvals and entitlements to build the project.

The work is partially funded by a Sustainable Communities Grant from the State Treasurers Office. The Town was recently awarded a grant to restore Trout Creek from the State Department of Water Resources!
